Growing Practices*

For Animals: Our animals have access to pasture when the weather permits and free choice hay at all times. We do not have the acreage to graze all of our animals so we take a "hybrid" approach by bringing the forages to them in a form of bailage (fermented feeds), timothy & orchardgrass. Grain is added to our beef cows diet during the last few months of life. The grain that is fed is grown on our farm and consists of corn and barley. The grain we grow is not sprayed with insecticides or pesticides.

For Produce: Organic practices address soil quality, animal raising practices, pest & weed control, and the use of additives. Use of soil quality, animal raising practices, pest and weed control, and use of additives. Organic producers rely on natural substances and physical, mechanical, or biologically based farming methods to the fullest extent possible.
